What we do :

Safe, accurate, and reliable data policy applications are critical to supporting our company's needs and reducing our risk exposure.

The Trust and Safety (T&S) Team helps others across the organization by providing tools, guidance and support for regulatory and policy compliance and quality oversight.

By doing this effectively we can minimize risk and ensure the data is available and fit for purpose. As part of T&S, the Data Governance & Policy Applications PM implements data governance and policy application framework to help centralize and streamline policy application to ensure consistency of application, efficiency, and auditability.

Role scope includes defining data policy standards, policy application quality monitoring, rules metadata management, and knowledge management.

The Principal Product Manager will partner with other Product and Eng teams to help translate policy application efficiencies and business needs across multiple data areas into targeted solutions.

The Data Governance & Policy Applications PM is responsible for defining the vision, scope, and prioritization of product development and enhancement.

This role requires exercising considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering a centralized yet efficient policy engine.

While focused on providing thought leadership within the Trust and Safety team, this PM also works on broader projects, which require a deep understanding of the wider business and data architecture.

What you'll do :

  • Apply data governance knowledge and practices to build comprehensive solutions to streamlining policy applications.
  • In depth knowledge of current data architecture and new technologies to improve efficiency and reliability of policy applications.
  • Drives priorities to execution with clear understanding of business value across TTD's various lines of business with the ability to balance risk and with business efficiencies.
  • Create long-term vision for TTD's policy framework, and convert it into planned milestones
  • Facilitates Product planning activities for cross-functional Data Governance team, including backlog grooming, retrospectives, sprint or kanban planning, testing and release planning.
  • Build a comprehensive view of current architecture and data flows, and partner with Engineering on potential efficiencies to facilitate policy applications.
  • Manage, maintain, and expand Data Sovereignty workstreams. Strengthen infrastructure against PII leakage and IMs. Assess the need for Sovereignty expansion.
  • Measurement : Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure Trust and Safety impact on TTD, focusing on risk reduction and business enablement.
  • Mentoring Junior ICs : Guide junior team members through complex infrastructure challenges.

Who you are :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 10+ years of professional work experience within Data Governance, Data Quality, Policy Engine and Applications, and Data Management
  • Excellent SQL and data tools skills
  • Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills
  • Self-driven and able to function with minimal direction
  • Has the ability to engage business and data stakeholders to resolve questions or issues
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to think creatively, innovate and flex where needed - quick / adaptive learner and collaborator / team player
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Able to strategize across complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.

All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.

The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year.

At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range.

The base salary range for this role is

$149,900-$274,900 USD
