Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to alleviate hunger in the community by actively participating in various responsibilities such as pick-up routes, food deliveries, stocking, cleaning, organizing, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities :
- Assist in executing scheduled pick-up routes to collect food donations from partnering organizations, businesses, and individuals.
- Safely and efficiently transport collected food to the pantry facility.
- Coordinate and conduct food deliveries to outreach locations and community partners as needed.
- Assist in the proper sorting, categorizing, and stocking of incoming food items.
- Maintain organized storage areas, ensuring that all items are easily accessible.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or specific needs to the Outreach Department Lead.
- Regularly clean and sanitize food storage areas, shelving, and workspaces.
- Ensure that the pantry facility always meets hygiene and safety standards.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including data entry, record-keeping, and document filing.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of food donations, distributions, and inventory levels.
- Communicate effectively with team members and community partners regarding schedules, needs, and updates.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to community service and addressing food insecurity.
