Volt is immediately hiring Sr. Obsolescense Engineer in Indianapolis, IN.
As Sr. Obsolescense Engineer you will :
- The client is seeking a Senior Obsolescence Engineer to join our Whole Life Systems Engineering section in Indianapolis, IN.
- The Senior Obsolescence Engineer will support the maintenance and repair of returned LRUs.
- The Senior Obsolescence Engineer will be responsible for tracking, repair and return of LRUs that have been returned from the field.
- This effort involves performing obsolescence analysis and monitoring the status of all relevant components and performing life cycle analysis to determine and recommend optimal spares, life-time buys, replacement options and re-use of un-repairable LRU components using a data driven approach to maintain the customers fielded inventory.
- In this effort, the Senior Obsolescence Engineer will support troubleshooting of the returned parts and identifying the best path to repair.
- The Senior Obsolescence Engineer will work with manufacturing to support the repair and testing of the LRU and track the return of the LRU to the customer.
- The Senior Obsolescence Engineer will track our inventory components and parts on hand. The Senior Obsolescence Engineer interfaces with the other parts of the organization including other engineering disciplines, program management and manufacturing and operations to ensure the successful repair of parts and their return to the field.

This is a 6 Month full time Contract opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have :
Required Experience :
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
- Experience and / or ability to perform Parts Obsolescence management including DMSMS analysis in accordance with DoD SD-22
- Experience analyzing technical data and reports to develop life cycle management recommendations and reports supporting sustainment and maintenance of products
- Exposure to reliability modeling and prediction in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-690, MIL-STD-765, ANSI-GEIA-STD-009, or equivalent industry standards or practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree.
Pay Rate : $55 - $65 per hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
