Job Summary
As the Assistant Director of Dining at Georgia Southern University, you will be entrusted with the pivotal responsibility of orchestrating the operational excellence within our dining facilities.
Your role will involve guiding and empowering managers and supervisors to elevate the productivity and effectiveness of our dining operations.
You will oversee the management of employees and programs, ensuring seamless hiring, training, evaluation, and development processes.
Crafting and executing strategic initiatives for the department will be a central aspect of your duties, as you navigate organizational activities and set forth business strategies to propel our dining services forward.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in delegating tasks and identifying opportunities for recruiting new managerial talent to align with our overarching strategic objectives
Responsibilities
- Works with the Culinary Leadership Team and management teams in creating nutritious and top quality food experiences throughout each campus of Georgia Southern University
- Act as a representative of Dining Services through committees, partnerships, and interactions with on and off campus partners connected to the dining department
- Manages, trains, and develops staff members
- Manages budgets and is responsible for financial stability of residential and / or retail dining locations
- Provide leadership to management and culinary staff throughout our various residential and retail dining locations
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Associate's Degree and seven (7) or more years of related experience in food service operation
- Bachelor's Degree and five (5) or more years of related work experience in food service operation in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education military, health care, and / or related food service operations
Required Experience
2 - 4 years of supervisory experience

Degree in culinary arts, restaurant / hotel management, business administration
Proposed Salary
$55,126 - $70,307
