Responsibilities Position is in a hospital Med / Surg Telemetry unit specializing in oncology Care for adult and geriatric patients with cancer diagnoses such as endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers Treatments on the unit include chemotherapy, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) Patient ratios are typically 1 : 4, but may adjust to 1 : 5 based on unit needs 12-hour night shifts with day / night rotating option available based on departmental needs Weekends are variable based on unit requirements Uses Epic for computerized charting Orientation includes five days on day shift followed by 36 hours of on-unit preceptorship Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, clinical trial participation, brachytherapy, neobladder care, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance Infection prevention protocols and patient falls management are emphasized Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and use of rapid response teams as needed Feeding tube care and management are part of the role No set or blocked scheduling; self-scheduling requests considered to balance unit needs and preferences Pre-employment and ongoing training and professional development are strongly supported Preferred but not required : ONS chemotherapy certification Requirements Active OH or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Experience caring for adult oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy and performing brachytherapy Ability to interpret telemetry readings and dysrhythmias Experience with Epic EMR Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620928.
