About The Position
Job Title : Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Job Specialty : General Surgery Job Duration : Not specified Shift : Day - 5x8 - 07AM - 03PM - 40 Hours per week Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Two years of recent scrubbing experience in an acute-care facility preferred License : Not specified Certifications : - Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within one year of hire.
- Certification must be maintained throughout employment.- BLS certification required. Must-Have : - Graduate of a surgical technology program accredited through ARC / STA.
- Individuals trained in the armed forces will be considered. Job Description : Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient and family-centered care in the operating room.
- Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.- Understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
- Maintains the sterile field throughout the procedure.- Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.- Rotates on-call 2-3 nights per week and every 3rd weekend.
- Works in a physically demanding, high-stress environment with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and radiation.
- Required to perform tasks involving manual and finger dexterity and hand / eye coordination.- Stands / walks for extensive periods and lifts / carries items weighing up to 25 pounds.
