General Summary :

Under the direction of the Nursing Leadership (can be defined as Director / Manager of the Clinical Resource Center / Clinical Resource Office / Nursing Office based on business unit), the House Manager provides supervision, leadership and administrative guidance to patient care units by making rounds on their assigned shift.

Responsible for adequately staffing the Nursing Department, recognizing the importance of efficiency and cost effectiveness while providing high quality of service.

Administratively accountable for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating assigned staff.

Responsible for monitoring and evaluating work performance for professional and support staff including hiring and disciplinary actions for staff assigned with the Clinical Resource Center / Clinical Resource Office / Nursing Office.

Functions as administrative and leadership coverage for all inpatient department areas in the absence of unit leadership.

Recruitment, screening, selection, hiring, and dismissal process of the Clinical Resource Center / Clinical Resource Office / Nursing Office staff.

Orientation process of Clinical Resource Center / Clinical Resource Office / Nursing Office staff.

Manages the Human Resources of the Clinical Resource Center / Clinical Resource Office / Nursing Office to ensure the achievement of the Department / HFHS Goals, including employee satisfaction, staff retention, and performance.

On assigned shifts, problem solves issues related to service of excellence, HR issues, staffing, and clinical care in the absence of the Nurse Manager / Unit Director.

Utilizes proper chain of command.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing

Minimum of 3 years experience of more responsible leadership experience in a clinical setting.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURES REQUIRED

Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.

ACLS / BLS certification
