Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana nursing jobs preferred)

BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years preferred for travel nursing roles)

Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments (physical, emotional, social, and functional)

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans

Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with hospital and healthcare policies

Monitor and document patient progress, updating care plans as needed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve patient rehabilitation goals

Provide patient and family education and counseling

Ensure accurate and timely documentation in medical records

Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and handle medical emergencies

Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies
