- BLS upon hire or within 3 months of hireMust-Have : - High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)- Completion of a six-month (6) to one (1) year course in Medical Assisting from an accredited school- Adherence to Medical Assistant scope of practice- Basic medical terminology- Experience with Electronic Scheduling and Electronic Medical RecordsJob Description : - Perform various clinical and office duties under direct supervision of Physician / Provider / Nurse- Adhere to performance standards, policies, and behaviors- Organize patient flow and assist patients with walking transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and exam preparation- Obtain patient history and perform screenings per provider guidelines- Assist providers and nurses with procedures and charting;
- relay instructions to patients and families- Manage and update patient records, schedule procedures and tests, and verify insurance coverage and demographics- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of examination rooms;
- check and complete required logs- Assist providers with electronic medical records management, including laboratory and radiology orders- Respect and promote patient rights;
- respond appropriately to emergencies- Participate in daily huddles and practice team meetings- Assist in the collection and handling of laboratory specimens, perform electrocardiography, and other office-specific tasks- Maintain infection control standards, including hand hygiene and personal protective equipment use- Be flexible and adapt to changes in routine- Handle and transport objects up to 50 pounds;
