The Team you will be working with :

The Power & Project Finance Group is a specialized team of experienced industry experts with a proven record of structuring and efficiently executing custom financing solutions for owners of power generation assets and power-related infrastructure projects across the United States.

The team provides construction and term debt, acquisition financing, revolving credit facilities, and letters of credit for projects in the solar, wind, natural gas-fired, energy storage, geothermal, hydroelectric, and transmission sectors.

This team's deep experience is complemented by the full product suite of Zions Capital Markets, enabling the team to perform all essential roles of syndicated project financing, including loan syndications, administrative agency services, and interest rate hedging.

Typical project financing transactions range from $50 million to over $500 million.

The position we are hiring for :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power & Project Portfolio Manager in El Segundo, CA or Denver, CO. This role focuses on managing and servicing a portfolio of project finance loans primarily centered in the power industry (renewable energy, natural gas, electric transmission, etc.).

  • Responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of project finance loans primarily centered in the power industry (renewable energy, natural gas, electric transmission, etc.).
  • Responsible for identifying key credit risks, recording and monitoring borrower covenants, ongoing account servicing (admin agency, construction draws, billing, rate setting, etc.

monitoring operating and financial performance, reassessing risk grades as necessary, and preparing extensive credit reviews which require working with complex financial models.

  • The Portfolio Manager provides documentation review and closing support during the execution of new lending opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities include maintaining various internal databases, handling reporting on loans such as past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, risk grades, and portfolio profitability.
  • May assist bankers on the originations team with new loan requests.
  • Attends industry conferences, site visits, and other related events.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact on closed loans and works directly with clients to resolve any pending issues.
  • Works alongside middle office and loan operations to service our client's needs.
  • Applies all applicable credit policies and procedures to the execution of the risk management process.
  • Works under limited direction and independently determines & develops solutions to a variety of issues that may arise.
  • Assists senior bankers with the mentoring and training of a team of associates and credit analysts.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications Needed :

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field. 8-10+ years of banking experience in relationship management, underwriting, and / or credit / portfolio management.

Position can possibly be filled at a more senior level with increased years of experience.

  • Experience in project finance, structured finance, and / or commercial real estate finance highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of various types of loans, credit analysis, spreading (and spreading software), and analyzing financial statements, risk analysis, loan documentation, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent credit skills in underwriting including financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation.
  • Requires excellent customer service, relationship, organizational, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of various software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Moody's Risk Analyst, S&P / Capital IQ, and Teams.

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $150,000 - $175,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.
