Summary
This position is responsible for maintain patient records, verifying eligibility and obtaining
authorization.
Essential Functions
- Review patient notes for completeness and accuracy.
- Create written orders and prescriptions and forward to doctor’s offices for approval.
- Complete records request from outside parties.
- Provide patients with an explanation of patient benefits, patient portion and payment plan
options.
- Verify insurance benefits.
- Obtain insurance authorization and document accordingly
- Analyze medical review policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office
equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines.

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit,
use hands to fingers, handle or feel. Occasionally may stand; walk; squat; bend; and
reach / pull / push with hands and arms.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One to three years’ experience working in the healthcare field.
- Able to work overtime.
