Water/Wastewater Engineer - Entry Level

Brown and Caldwell is currently seeking a self-motivated, water and wastewater treatment engineer to join our design team in Dallas, TX.

In this new role, you will work with and be mentored by strong, nationally recognized, senior technical staff on various water and wastewater-related projects.

Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.

You will be working with technical staff and executing the following types of work :

• Perform engineering work with the Process Mechanical Design Discipline team on water and wastewater projects including treatment plants,
• pipelines, and pumping stations for municipal clients. Work with teams on engineering designs, preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and equipment selection for
• various projects.
• Preliminary design activities such as studies, data analysis, and alternatives analyses.
• Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
• Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspections as part of engineering services during construction.
• Conduct field work, such as site investigations, as necessary for various projects.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (Engineers, Designers).
• Coordinate project work with geotechnical, architectural, process, civil, mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical engineers and consultants.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required.
• Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally.
• Good written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Strong interest in developing water and wastewater treatment design skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
• EIT qualifications or intent to pursue EIT standing.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with Projectwise, Bluebeam, and BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and / or SpecLink are a plus.
• Experience using engineering calculation and modeling software such as MathCAD, AFT Fathom, and / or AFT Arrow are a plus

Salary :

Location A : $63,000 - $86,000
