Three Wire delivers practice, preventative, and integrated care coordination to private and public sector employers. This care coordination, in turn, supports clinical tele-behavioral health, holistic wellness, navigational advocacy and family stability, and thus helps individuals thrive in their career and family life.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

We are actively seeking motivated Strength and Conditioning Coaches (SCC) and Human Performance Specialists for a ground-breaking Military Health program.

The U.S. Army's program is designed to optimize human performance by leveraging evidence-based information to increase physical and non-physical performance, decrease injury occurrence, improve access to rehabilitation, and improve overall individual performance.

The Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) establishes effective strength and conditioning training programs within the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) contract.

Develops comprehensive education and service programs to optimize individual and unit physical readiness in reducing the risk of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries.

Completes specific tasks assigned to designated units such as fitness centers / gyms, brigade (BDE), administrative areas, outdoors, ranges, field training environments and at the Soldier Performance Readiness Center (SPRC).

Work includes providing forward MSK care, early medical intervention, injury prevention (IP), and performance optimization services.

Essential Job Functions :

Optimize individual and unit physical readiness and ability to perform warrior tasks and battle drills. Physical readiness is defined as availability for deployment and task-specific performance.

Soldiers perform repetitive physical tasks, such as foot marching, drill and ceremony, rifle marksmanship, and repeated obstacle course circuits, resulting in a high number of overuse-type injuries.

The types of injuries are similar to those commonly seen in athletics, including sprains, strains, tendonitis, and stress fractures.

Establish and administer effective strength and conditioning training programs designed to maximize the physical performance and reduce the risk of MSK injuries of Installation personnel.

Most work will be performed in a military training environment (e.g., fitness centers, gyms, administrative areas, outdoors, ranges, field training environments).

Assists the lead SCC in developing, coordinating, executing, and managing H2F approved strength and condition programs.

Coordinates with the lead SCC to ensure all strength and condition education / services are synchronized / integrated with the approved education and services provided by the H2F Team.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements evidence-based, strength and conditioning programs focused on unit mission and individual Soldier tasks that are synchronized and integrated with unit training / operational schedule, battle rhythm, and culture.
  • Recommends and approves instruction and guidance to Soldiers and the BDE leadership on physical strength and conditioning concerning injury mitigation strategies collaboratively with the H2F Performance Team.

Coaches and mentors, the unit fitness leaders and H2F integrator.

  • Compiles reports, collects data, tracks, and documents Soldier / unit progression, and recommends opportunities for system-wide improvements.
  • Participates in program quality assurance of the training programs and participates in program / system reviews to identify best practices and lessons learned;

makes recommendations and opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensures safe and effective operation of equipment within their work capacity for a safe working environment.
  • Observes BDE specific training events (e.g., shooting range, obstacle courses, combative training areas, etc.) as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC).
  • Have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification from the American Heart Association / American Red Cross.

Certification cards must display the AHA or ARC, the American emblem; web-based classes do not meet the required standards.

Certification must be maintained in a current status at all times while performing services under this contract.

3+ years of relevant strength and conditioning work experience within the last five years; relevant experience is developing and executing task and environment-specific functional injury control and health / well-being programs for groups of athletes or Department of Defense / Department of Homeland Security / Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal.

Up to one year of employment related Internships or graduate work will be considered relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that they can relate to a variety of Soldiers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be physically able to hike in an austere environment and terrain (e.g., rocky, no running water, no shelter, no bathroom, no climate control, inclement weather, loud, smoky, etc.

  • Must be physically able to lift and manipulate loads and weight plates up to 45 pounds.
