Maintenance Mechanic
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance performance on all production processes and equipment.
Must possess a thorough understanding of the operation and have acquired additional technical training, both classroom and practical, that will further enhance abilities that will meet individual and company needs.
Work location : Charlestown, SC
Shift : 7PM-7AM 2 / 2 / 3 Schedule
Compensation : Starting at $26.15(+ shift differential)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Communicate effectively with other employees, vendors and contractors.
- Repair or assist with any mechanical problems in the facility or on the grounds.
- Demonstrate the ability to safety and accurately operate small power hand tools and various pieces of shop equipment.
- Read and comprehend technical manuals, blue prints, and other related maintenance or equipment documents.
- Must acquire additional technical training, both classroom and practical, that will further enhance abilities that will meet individual and company needs.
- Be a self-starter who possesses the ability to work with little or no supervision while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Willing to work on any shift, respond to emergencies during weekends, holidays, nights and upon request.
- Perform all other duties as assigned. Duties may change as the manufacturing process changes.
- Must display a commitment to safety by following all safety policies and practices at all times.
- Responsible for performing monthly BBS observations and other audit programs, cleaning, painting, and maintaining 5S system.
- Participation and completion of required EH & S training.
- Responsible for performing assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions.
- Responsible for observing safety precautions at all times and reporting any environmental incidents to Plant Superintendent.
- Waste must be placed in appropriate designated labeled containers and lid must be properly closed after disposal of waste.
Examples of waste are chemical, oily rags, aerosol cans, empty paint cans.
- Perform all other duties as assigned. Duties may change as the manufacturing process changes.
- Responsible for performing SMATs and / or TFs and be an active participant in all other facility audit, manufacturing and efficiency programs.
This includes WCM involvement in projects and / or meetings, as required. Incumbents are responsible for ensuring 5S standards are met and maintained.
Incumbent is required to clean, paint, etc. to maintain 5S standards.
Requirements
- Must have High School education or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 Ibs and climb stairs frequently.
- Basic operating knowledge of computers and various software programs.
- Maintenance 1st Class must also have been qualified as a Maintenance 2nd Class
