Job Summary :

The Server Senior Analyst will be responsible for managing and maintaining SSAB’s cloud and server infrastructure including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as needed.

Interface with other teams and projects to manage or assist with projects or activities. Creates and update documentation for the server, storage & backup environments.

This position involves working closely with other team members based in Sweden, Finland and America to ensure that the server infrastructure is operating efficiently and effectively.

The Server Analyst will be expected to have a high level of technical expertise in server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Monitoring the performance of the server infrastructure and taking corrective action according to the agreed service offering
  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software systems, including operating systems, virtualization platforms, and applications.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to server infrastructure.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders as needed
  • Managing the life cycle of servers, including planning for upgrades and replacements as needed
  • Collaborating with the Infrastructure Architect to identify the hardware and software requirements for the organization's servers
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues according to agreed service levels
  • Stay up to date with emerging server technologies and industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and / or 5+ years of experience in server infrastructure management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience with cloud-based server infrastructure is a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee will frequently be required to :

Operate in an office environment, routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, network tools / equipment, phones, photocopiers and scanners.

This role is partially sedentary; however, some handling of materials is required. This would require the ability to walk, bend, kneel or stand, use of hands to finger, hold and handle, reach with hands and arms and to push / pull, lift or carry items up to 30 lbs.

The position requires the following vision and hearing capabilities :

  • Talking person to person, on the phone, and / or in group settings
  • Hearing in person, on the phone, and / or in group settings
  • Vision at near, mid, and far range

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a full time position.
  • This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime
  • Travel for this position is expected to comprise less than 25% of work hours
