Special Education Teacher
Location : Windsor, ME
Job Description : We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team in Windsor, ME. This role involves working closely with students with diverse learning needs to provide individualized educational support and create an inclusive learning environment.
Educational Requirements :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Completion of student teaching experience in special education.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the needs of students.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both individual and small group settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly.
- Use data to inform instruction and make necessary adjustments.
- Advocate for the educational and social-emotional needs of students.
- Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Certifications :
- State certification as a Special Education Teacher in Maine.
- Additional endorsements in specific areas of special education (e.g., Autism, Learning Disabilities) are preferred but not required.
