The Registered Occupational Therapist provides evaluation and treatment for individuals with physical or cognitive impairments that limit their ability to perform daily activities. This role requires compassionate care and a commitment to improving patient outcomes across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Adhere to organizational mission, vision, and values while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain professional communication and collaborative relationships with patients, families, healthcare teams, and external agencies.
  • Practice within the scope defined by the licensing board and demonstrate competency in occupational therapy care.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations and develop, implement, and review individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions and health management.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation according to policy standards.
  • Provide clinical guidance to Occupational Therapy Assistants.

General Responsibilities

Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals.

Education and Experience

  • Education meeting licensure requirements at the time of issuance.
  • Preferred : Previous experience in a similar clinical environment.
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Occupational Therapy licensure through the appropriate state board.
  • Current BLS / CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
  • Driver's license and auto insurance as required if the position involves driving.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Physical Requirements

    Medium work involving occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and frequent standing or walking for 26-50% of the workday.
