Position Overview :
The HR Manager will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing our organization’s human resources functions. This position is responsible for managing HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, with a focus on creating a supportive and inclusive work environment.
The HR Manager will work closely with program staff and community members to ensure that our workforce is well-supported and aligned with our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Recruitment and Staffing :
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for various positions.
- Oversee the hiring process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with program managers to understand staffing needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
2. Employee Relations and Support :
- Act as a liaison between staff and management, addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Implement and maintain employee support programs, including mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that reflects our commitment to community values.
3. Performance Management :
- Design and administer performance management systems that align with organizational goals and support staff development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to employees to encourage growth and improvement.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives.
4. Compliance and Policy Development :
- Ensure organizational practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
5. Community Engagement :
- Work with program teams to understand community needs and ensure that HR practices support our mission and programming.
- Participate in community events and initiatives to promote the organization and its employment opportunities.
6. Administrative Duties :
- Manage HR-related documentation, including employee files, benefits administration, and payroll processing.
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably within a non-profit or community-focused organization.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
