Job Description

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing on a contract basis. This position is well-suited for professionals dedicated to supporting students with hearing impairments, providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique needs.

Location : Camden, South Carolina

Job Type : Contract (Current School Year)

Grade Levels : Kindergarten through 12th Grade

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and deliver individualized educational plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Utilize appropriate munication methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning.
Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and other specialists to support student success.
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation of student performance and munication needs.

Desired Qualifications :

Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing.

Experience working with K-12 students who have hearing impairments.

Proficiency in munication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), auditory-verbal techniques, or other relevant modalities.

Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
