Position Summary :

As an Executive Director, Software Engineering, you are a leader that combines your expert the design and build of software with a focus on analytical capabilities.

Additionally, your expert ability to collaborate and evangelize the Agile mindset and frameworks within an organization.

We are a growing consumer outreach platform that delivers to over 120MM consumers annually, enabling them to support and live healthier lives via better health outcomes.

CPL is a bespoke, homegrown platform that combines traditional software with machine learning and predictive aspects; brought together through sophisticated designs that drive scalability, extensibility, and performance.

Additionally, we are in the process of migrating to the cloud. You will collaborate with your peers and the right of the team to ensure the fidelity on the work and the platform is second-to-none.

In this position you will :

• This is a leadership role that sets the software engineering strategy and direction with the other members CPL Leadership team
• People management responsibilities of a cross-discipline set of team members
• Leverage your extensive experience solutioning and delivering software with a focus on high profile stakeholders and capabilities through consultation, outreach, and connection across our organization and beyond
• Initial focus is on the analytical capabilities of the product like experimentation and measurement, but this role will need to become expert in the entire platform
• Evangelizes how we work through the Agile mindset
• Collaborates with our internal working teams : Architecture, Product, Experience, and Infrastructure and Tooling, to transition from ideas to implementation
• Applies knowledge of CVS Health systems, products, and data domains to consult and advise on additional efforts across multiple domains spanning broader enterprise
• Integrates data and insights into different systems of work management through established patterns
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams
• Ability to document and communicate delivery ideas and results to all parties in written and verbal form
• Proven ability to produce innovative solutions to highly complex product / platform problems

Required Qualifications :

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience / knowledge / ability :

• Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
• 8+ years of experience delivering on n-tiered application design
• 6+ years of experience in delivering large-scale applications and building high volume data platform via streaming and APIs (e.

g. microservices, ReST)

• 4+ years of experience in the Agile mindset and implementation of Agile work management (e.g. Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban) in multi-disciplinary teams
• 4+ years in people management
• 4+ years in engineering-oriented roles
• 3+ years in working on analytically-driven products / platforms with a focus on personalization, message optimization, and recommendation

Preferred Qualifications :

• Advanced degree
• 5+ years of delivering digital products
• 3+ years working in Agile methodologies including the transformation of teams / organizations to work working throuth them and having certifications (e.g. CSM, CSPO, CAL)
• 3+ years in operating and evangelizing work management tooling (e.g. Rally)
• 3+ years in collaborating with Data Science teams
• 3+ years of implementation of full-stack solutions with technologies in the GCP suite of offerings (e.g. BigQuery, Spanner, PubSub, Composer)

Education :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is :

$170,000.00 - $325,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.

The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
