Job Location : Monday-Friday Part Time (20 hours a week) Remote The role you’ll contribute : The CP HIM Data Integrity Analyst I is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI).
Perform electronic medical records reviews to validate the appropriateness of medical records and perform electronic corrections within Epic Electronic Health Record when integrity issues are identified.
Provides services to all AHS facilities, communicates with multiple departments enterprise-wide to coordinate and correct patient information and other required data.
This role analyzes chart correction scenarios and performs subsequent hands-on technical chart corrections as part of daily work responsibilities.
The CP HIM Data Integrity Analyst I will evaluate, analyze and understand the complexity of the case , and utilize critical thinking skills to make the necessary corrections while meeting the organizational goals.
This position serves as an organizational resource to correct inappropriate data in the patient's chart for issues involving chart corrections.
The individual works at the center of the chart correction process, facilitating correction throughout all inpatient and outpatient information systems and ensuring that all necessary corrections are made in a timely manner.
The value you’ll bring to the team : Ø Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the patient’s health record by using analytical and investigational skills and multiple tools (chart corrections tools, in basket, account activities, emails, help desk, etc.
and legacy systems to determine, coordinate, and execute action needed to remediate integrity discrepancies. Ø Ability to work collaboratively with teams at corporate and the facility level such as, HIM, AIT, Corporate Responsibility, Revenue Cycle, Consumer Access, Billing, Clinicians, Nursing, and other departments to ensure that the information contained within the legal health record is reliable, trustworthy, and free from erroneous data or unauthorized modifications.
Ø Retrieves patient information using EPIC applications and analyzes the patient’s chart to perform contact moves, unmerges, resolve overlays, and update patient demographics as necessary in accordance with policies and procedures.
Ø Works with multiple legacy systems such as Cerner, Athena, Home Care Home Base, Initiate, Medi Quant, etc. to help research, analyze, and validate patient information .
Comparing key attributes within the patients’ health record. Ø Responsible for working the Incoming Message work queue daily to review and validate incoming Care Everywhere messages from other facilities unable to be linked automatically by EPIC and determine if the message should be linked to an existing patient within our AdventHealth Electronic Health Record or reject the message.
Ø Responsible for processing document correction requests in a timely manner for all AHS facilities within OnBase and Media Manager.
Ø Responsible for accurately documenting information pertaining to the chart correction case, i.e., entering in case notes, root causes, advisories, and assigning case tasks as needed to appropriate areas to ensure the timely and accurate correction of the patients’ health record.
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed : MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : Ø Exhibits excellence in communication, feedback, exactitude, and follow through with data, customers, and peers, as there is a high level of patient safety risk associated with the transfer of patient information.
Ø Strong analytical problem-solving skills operating with a high level of accuracy Ø Strong ability to work independently, demonstrating effective time management and delivering results without constant supervision.
Ø Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task Ø Knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e. excel, word, outlook Ø Previous experience in Health Information Management or related healthcare field.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED : Ø Experience using EPIC as it pertains to Chart Corrections or Health Information Management Ø Prior experience with other EHR systems i.
e., Cerner, Athena, & Initiate Ø Knowledge of medical treatment methods, pharmacology, patient care assessment, medical documentation requirements, and data collection techniques.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Ø 2 or more years of Health Information Management Experience EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED : Ø Associates degree in Health Information Management or related field LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED : Ø RHIT or RHIA FACILITY SPECIFIC SECTION Ø Upholds Adventist Health System values Ø Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates sensitivity in working with AHS employees.
