POSITION OVERVIEW :
Oversee the Portfolio Management function of the Commercial Real Estate team ensuring all policies and compliance requirements are adhered to.
Assign and review work of Portfolio Managers and review when requested work assigned to Commercial Loan Administrators ( CLA’s ) reporting to the Director CRE Portfolio Management / Construction.
As needed, ensure that all processes, procedures, and policies are adhered to.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Performs portfolio management responsibilities including but not limited to :
- Manage a team of Portfolio Managers in the CRE designated Location.
- Monitor the workflow of PMs and review work prior to submission / approval by Relationship Managers for accuracy. (financial reviews, memos, CRMRs, approvals)
- Monitor Annual Reviews for timely completion and ensure they are prepared in compliance with policy, including risk rating assessment.
- Oversee the documentation and accuracy of covenant compliance of the CRE Portfolio.
- Monitor Semi-Annual Construction reviews for timely completion and ensure they are prepared in compliance with loan documents and policy, including risk rating assessment.
- Monitor financial tracking reports for accuracy and timely receipt.
- Monitor Annual Review tracker for receipt of financial information and assign to PMs for completion.
- Conduct weekly meetings with staff to discuss administrative issues such as delinquencies, timely receipt of financials, updating of trackers, completion of assignments in a timely manner, etc.
- Planning and assigning work to team members.
- Oversee Summer Interns.
- Promote customer relationships by assisting Relationship Managers and Customers with ongoing issues as requested / needed.
- Assist Relationship Managers in obtaining and reviewing third party reports.
- Monitor required site inspections for CRE portfolio.
- Manage and monitor maturities and delinquencies for the Commercial Real Estate Group.
- Manage and monitor workflow through underwriting and approval process.
- Complete special projects as requested.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. This includes interviewing, hiring, training, and managing employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing and resolving employee complaints and concerns.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ work experience in all facets of commercial real estate within financial industry, with a strong concentration in Banking.
- Strong comprehensive financial analysis skills / experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Commercial Real Estate Loan Documentation. (Term Sheets, Legal documents, leases, etc.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction loans.
- Ability to manage a commercial real estate portfolio.
- Ability to assist multiple Lenders with management of their portfolio.
- Strong verbal and written communicative and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Proficient with software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel), financial analysis programs and discounted cash flow models.
- Ability to manage heavy workflow, resolve problems with modest supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. This position involves travel to customers and property locations.
