EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for Hardware Engineer (Digital Circuits) in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located in our Germantown, MD office.

Job Responsibilities :

Implement high-speed electrical schematic design and layout for digital circuits. Perform design and hardware verification testing for Jupiter 3 indoor units to ensure proper functioning of the electrical design.

Develop firmware for a microcontroller unit that monitors the health and power sequencing of the electrical unit.

  • Work on the microcontroller firmware to bring up RF radio components on a concept radio design. Support power and signal integrity simulations during electrical design prototyping to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams, including software and firmware, system hardware, and ASIC teams, to identify and debug hardware design failures.

Identify and resolve issues in satellite terminal architecture by evaluating field-returned units.

Basic Requirements :

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field plus 6 months’ experience in electrical design for digital circuits or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in electrical design for digital circuits.
  • Experience must include 6 months in each of the following : Cadence, MATLAB; Embedded C, Algorithms; and Microcontrollers, STM32CubeMX, uVision Keil.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
