Job Summary : The Director of Patient Services is a confident, engaged, customer and patient focused leader within a large hospital setting who will lead the operations pertaining to patient dining services.

The Director will have a team of 3 Patient Services Managers / Supervisors plus approximately 60 Associates and will report to the System Director of Dining Services.

Key Responsibilities : Coordinates and implements system's patient service programs based upon hospital's medical direction, patient population, and contractEnsures patient satisfaction and good public relations are achieved through the safe and efficient use of resourcesManagement, education, training, and performance improvement of patient food service personnelApproximately 80% operations;
  • 20% scheduling / administrative duties such as payroll, inventory, and / or orderingHires, leads, directs, coaches, trains, and develops Patient Services Managers and SupervisorsLeads all aspects of the evaluation of and discipline of patient food services employees, as applicable and according to departmental policyMonitors competency, productivity and documentation accuracy of patient services managers and teams using vital tools and resourcesVisits patients on an assigned nursing unit or area and helps ensure that every patient is visited by a member of the management or professional team at least once during their hospital stayEnsures patient services staff assists in achieving stated patient satisfaction goalsCommunicates optimally with all team members, patients and families through conferences, individual consultation and committee participationPerforms other tasks that may be assigned Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Hospitality Management or related field or equivalentMinimum of five (5) years' work experience with at least two (2) years in healthcare, including one (1) year in a managerial positionCertified Dietary Manager preferred if associate does not have a degree in Nutrition or Dietetics;
  • Registered Dietitian preferredServSafe Certification is required (may be earned after hire)Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentationSupervisory, leadership, management and coaching skillsCommunication skills both written and verbalAbility to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levelsFinancial, budgetary, accounting and computational skillsProficient computer skills to include;
