Government Operations Consultant III - 48002534

Under the supervision of the CCR&R Program Manager, and in collaboration with other team members, serve as a CCR&R Program Analyst. This analyst will demonstrate strong customer service skills and work in tandem with team members to identify programmatic needs and deliver technical assistance to early leaning coalitions. Support CCR&R operations by assisting with customer inquiries to the Division's call center; responding to e-mails and voicemails and maintaining open communication with early learning coalition and contractor staff. This position requires planning, organizing, and coordinating work on the local and statewide levels to facilitate the development of a seamless delivery system of quality program services to enable all children to be ready for school.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Develop and implement a plan for the provision of family resources statewide. Includes the development and identification of technical assistance, research, webinars, newsletters, educational toolkits, articles and other appropriate materials to benefit families.
  • Coordinate with other organizations and programs engaged in related activities and represent the Division of Early Learning in meetings, events, conference calls and workgroups.
  • Assist with the coordination of statewide / regional technical assistance and training opportunities for consumer education and family engagement initiatives.
  • Produce quality products that meet the requirements set forth in the Child Care Development Fund application as it pertains to consumer education.
  • Responsible for preparation and completion of special projects and reports as directed.
  • Assist the Program / Policy Unit and other DEL units with program related initiatives as directed.
  • Management of grants and contracts as assigned.
  • Lead parent initiatives for DEL.
  • Support CCR&R operations by assisting with customer inquiries to the Division's call center; responding to e-mails and voicemails.
  • Complete other CCR&R duties as assigned

The ideal incumbent must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The incumbent must interact courteously with others. The performance and behavior of all employees must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of unit. Attendance is an essential function.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, expected to master in order for the position to meet expectations for evaluations and completion of probationary year :

  • Knowledge of social services and early childhood education
  • Must exemplify strong communication skills with the Division of Early Learning staff, community, early learning coalitions and / contractor staff
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other community agencies, organizations on family engagement and consumer education for families
  • Ability to write and edit materials
  • Knowledge and demonstrated skills in technology and software programs
  • Ability to solve problems and develop alternative recommendations
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience in policy analysis, research, and analysis
  • Ability to translate complex information into non-technical terms for a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to synthesize information and convert to concise descriptions and formats
  • Ability to design and implement appropriate intervention strategies in the implementation of projects
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to train adult learners.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, for professional development opportunities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • At least 3 years of professional experience working with social services and / or early childhood education.

    Preferences will be given to :

  • Applicants who meet both professional and educational experience.

  • Applicants who have a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or University.
  • This position is located in the Turlington building at 325 W. Gaines Street, Tallahassee. No telework option.
