Engineer- Aerospace Systems III

Flordia / Arizona / Alabama / Colorado / Texas / Washington / California / Virgina

Responsibilities :

  • Work as a Safety Systems Engineer supporting the Fuel Cell Generator design and integration on future space vehicles.
  • Fuel Cell scope includes power generation, water generation, thermal management, and fluid management with interfacing vehicle subsystems.
  • Develop system safety processes work products necessary to support lifecycle development of fuel cell architectures.
  • Influence component requirements and support system trades to ensure safe and reliable operations in space.
  • Develop Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Hazard Reports, reliability analysis, and developing mitigation plans for Fuel Cells
  • Ensure traceability between subsystem and component functions, requirements, and safety artifacts
  • Collaborate with Electrical Power Systems and Vehicle Systems Engineers to ensure commonality across safety products.

Qualifications :

  • degree or equivalent relevant experience in engineering or another related technical field
  • Strong system safety and mission assurance fundamentals
  • Must have authored Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), and / or Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Experience with requirements development / management tools such as DOORS Next Gen or JAMA
  • Successful candidates in this role typically have 5+ years of related experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be a . citizen or national, . permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the . as a refugee or granted asylum

Ansys Sherlock)Experience with systems engineering modeling tools, such as Rhapsody or Cameo.Experience with software and complex hardware certification in accordance with DO178 and DO254Experience with reliability data sources such as NPRD, EPRD and utilizing Windchill software tool for reliability models and FTAs
