Role Overview
The company is seeking a Head of Electrical Engineering to lead a dynamic team responsible for the development of their hydrogen systems.
This role involves driving high-level design and architecture decisions, overseeing the transition from prototype to manufacturing, and fostering an engineering culture focused on innovation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of electrical systems for hydrogen technology.
- Guide the engineering team in developing prototypes and iterating quickly to deliver a market-ready product.
- Oversee the electrical aspects of technology development, including test systems, fabrication, and hardware.
- Build and grow an exceptional engineering team, mentoring future leaders.
- Provide strategic direction to the company’s engineering efforts, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Encourage new technological advancements while ensuring timely execution of projects.
- Cultivate an inclusive, transparent, and innovative work environment.
- Implement continuous performance management strategies, fostering growth and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Advanced degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in power electronics and high voltage systems design.
- 10+ years in hardware engineering leadership, with a history of managing teams and scaling them effectively.
- Hands-on experience in system design, particularly with electro-mechanical devices.
- Background in industrial product deployment, with knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, chemical) within the energy sector.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to inspire teams.
- Experience with component sourcing and contract negotiations is a plus.
