Key Purpose of the Role :
As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the strategic execution of the operations function : planning, scheduling, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and safety for all Tate facility operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Overseeing manufacturing and quality processes to ensure compliance with documented procedures, ISO guidelines, and necessary approval activities.
- Ensuring overall conformity to compliance processes across all operations functions.
- Managing operations using a data-driven approach, with a deep understanding of the factors affecting Key Performance Indicators and Manufacturing Variances, to implement performance improvement plans.
- Aggressively managing manufacturing overheads to maintain a competitive cost base.
- Revitalizing the Continuous Improvement program to enhance the organization's competitive position and operational profitability.
- Leading Capital Expenditure projects to minimize unnecessary spending and ensure timely returns on investments.
- Providing active support for new product development and driving the successful introduction of new products.
- Developing the engineering team to broaden their expertise and ensure the timely execution of Continuous Improvement and Capital Expenditure projects.
- Managing the Operations side of the ERP system upgrade, using the rollout process to streamline and enhance business processes and controls.
- Establishing and implementing ongoing evaluation and training programs for all staff, ensuring that employees within the Operations function meet expected competencies and addressing competency gaps through training plans.
- Creating and maintaining a succession plan for all key Operations positions.
- Maintaining efficient Inventory Management practices to optimize the company's working capital position, in close coordination with the Purchasing and Finance departments.
- Aiming for and achieving Grade 1 on Corporate internal factory audits.
- Developing and maintaining a sustainability program to meet performance targets at each facility, aligning with NET Zero and Planet Passionate goals.
- This role may require up to 25% travel, some of which may be international.
- Ensuring awareness of individual contributions to quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities, and promptly reporting any quality issues, unsafe acts, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications :
- BA / BS in industrial, mechanical, or business administration, or a 4-year technical degree in related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operation and / or related industry.
- GMP experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook.
- Must possess valid driver license.
- High level of interpersonal skills.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
