Progressive Care Unit

Progressive Care Unit SEASONAL DAYS (13 weeks)
Patient Population : Trauma, High flow and ARVO Oxygenation systems, Vasoactive Drips, Chest pain, Stroke, Sepsis, Covid
Patient Ratios : 1 : 3 or 1 : 4
Number of Beds : 32 beds
Shift : Seasonal Full Time days; 7am-7pm
Requirements : 2 years Med / Surg / Tele; PCU experience preferred
Department Specifics : 77% BSN, Multidisciplinary Rounding (with Physicians, Case Management, PT / OT, etc.) for best patient outcomes and quickest recovery. Self-scheduling request system. We encourage our team to be involved in the unit through our Unit Based Council, education opportunities and other opportunities provided within Baylor.

Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements : 2 years Med / Surg / Tele; PCU experience preferred
Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) : BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
