About The Position
Job Title : Histopathology Technician.
Location : Danville, IL 61832
Duration : 1+ Year or Full time (options for 26 weeks contract)
Start date : Jan 2025
Shift Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am 4 : 30 pm.
Qualifications
Preferred certification in Histopathology
Experience : Minimum one-year experience.
Responsibilities
- Accession and receive samples into the laboratory information system, ensuring proper preparation and physiological integrity of specimens.
- Perform automated and non-automated procedures in Cytology and Surgical Pathology, following established protocols.
- Calibrate, standardize, and maintain instruments, perform quality control checks, and make necessary repairs.
- Conduct quality control procedures, maintain records, and perform validation studies on lab equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, manage records in the Histology department, and monitor temperature in histology areas.
- Liaise with clinics, providers, Decedent's affairs, and funeral homes regarding specimens, labeling, and morgue compliance.
- Handle tasks related to frozen section processing and maintain supplies and records for the department.
