Execuitve Sous Chef Responsibilites may include

  • Maintains responsibility for day-to-day operations of the kitchen; having complete responsibility for the kitchen
  • Assists Culinary Director in the creation of menus, costing of said menus, descriptions, and allergen matrices for service staff
  • Responsible for overseeing the Banquet Event Orders and leading the kitchen in banquet prep and execution
  • Assists in the interviewing, selection, supervision, training, development, scheduling, evaluating and coaching of back of house staff
  • Ensures correct preparation and presentation at an elevated and consistent level through production and demonstration
  • Oversees purchasing, receiving and inventory of all kitchen items
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with The Weber Group and Columbia Hospitality values and mission

Executive Sous Chef Requirements Include

  • Culinary arts degree and / or equivalent training with three or more years of culinary lead or supervisory experience
  • Possesses a strong background / knowledge fo classic French technique
  • Must demonstrate excellent peole skills and a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanor
  • Thorough understanding of excellent service, labor, maintenance, merchandising and accounting
  • Excellent working knowledge of food, wine & cocktails, culinary equipment and techniques

Executive Sous Chef Physical Requirements

  • Performing in a kitchen area with exposure to heat, cold, fumes, steam, and noise
  • Requires the employee to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking
