The RN OR will assure the delivery of comprehensive, safe, effective, cost effective, and appropriate nursing care for patients across the age continuum (4 weeks - geriatric) in accordance with established surgery center policies, nursing practice standards, and the Association of Operating Room Nurses.
The RN provides individualized nursing care to the surgical patient, demonstrating an extensive knowledge base to support a variety of single and multi-system illnesses and / or injuries.
The RN controls the environment within the surgical suite and accepts responsibility for developing and coordinating a safe plan of care utilizing AORN Standards of Practice.
The RN works within the framework set forth by the policies, philosophy, and objectives of EmergeOrtho, while maintaining the standards of nursing practice.
The RN will adhere to the scope of practice according to the North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Care Act. The RN reports directly to the Clinical Director.

Training & Education :
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the North Carolina State Board of Nursing is required.
- Must be able to communicate and understand the English language both verbal and written.
- Computer literate.
- Must be able to achieve BLS certification within 90-days of employment; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of employment.
- Member of AORN recommended.
- CNOR recommended.
Experience :
- Minimum 2-years Operating Room experience preferred.
- Familiar with instruments and equipment related to Perioperative Nursing preferred.
- Ability to be flexible and take on new responsibilities.
