Job Description :
As an occupational therapist (OT), your role will involve assessing and treating individuals to enhance their ability to carry out everyday tasks such as dressing, toileting, bathing, cooking, and engaging in recreational activities.
Your exercises will focus on stretching, strengthening, and improving flexibility. PT will concentrate on rehabilitating joint range of motion, muscle strength, and fine motor skills training.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct evaluations and provide supervision
- Assist in the development of fine motor skills, enabling individuals to grasp, release, and develop improved handwriting abilities
- Enhance hand-eye coordination to enhance play skills, such as hitting a target, batting a ball, copying from a blackboard, and more
- Support individuals with developmental delays in carrying out daily tasks independently, including toileting, bathing, dressing, teeth brushing, and self-feeding
- Collaborate with individuals experiencing sensory and attention issues, guiding them to improve focus and social skills
- Teach anger-management techniques to individuals with behavioral disorders, helping them channel their emotions positively through activities like writing and physical exercises
- Evaluate patients' specialized equipment needs, such as wheelchairs, splints, bathing equipment, dressing devices, and communication aids
Qualifications :
- Hold a graduate degree, either a master's degree or a clinical doctorate
- Possess excellent organizational skills
- Show adaptability and enthusiasm for change
- Exhibit strong collaboration abilities
- Demonstrate skill in documentation and writing
- Have a friendly personality and exceptional people skills
