Warehouse Specialist

Primary Functions :

This position is responsible for ensuring freight is received in an efficient and accurate manner, documenting for damages, consignee information, check weights, dimensions, and process in a timely manner.

This position is also responsible for shipping the correct freight, keep work areas clean, and ensure that supplies and mechanics are kept in working order.

Education and / or Experience Qualifications :

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and / or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical / administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Responsibilities :

• Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
• Following safety and TSA regulations.
• Maintain warehouse supply level.
• Ensure mechanical appliances are in working order.
• Keep warehouse clean and organized.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and / or shipped.
• File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
• Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
