ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - STUDENT SERVICES - SOMERSET BERKLEY REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
JOB GOAL : To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of students can be realized.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
1.Provide confidential secretarial services to Special Education Coordinator using discretion with frequent sensitive student issues, as well as matters of concern involving department staff members
2.Maintain administrator's calendar and schedule of appointments.
3.Scheduling of all IEP Reviews and Re-Eval meetings.
4.Send out all IEP's for electronic signature through Adobe
5.Gathering all information required to report on indicators as required by the state.
6.Register all Out of District students in Aspen
7.Requesting LEA documentation when needed
8.Analyze urgent situations accurately and exercise judgment in taking effective action when dealing with parents, students, and co-workers of all levels.
9.Maintain awareness of and compliance with federal and state regulations regarding Special Education.
10. Responsible for maintaining accurate records in the Special Education section of Aspen
11. Track, organize, and maintain extensive confidential files on all special education students in the District for the high school and Out of District students.
12. Oversee the process of receiving special education student records of incoming students and preparing them for high school use.
13. Monitor gathering and disbursement of various student progress reports to parents.
14. Compile numerous reports as needed for the Special Education Coordinator
15.Copy, mail, and / or fax special education records to requesting parties.
16. Request special education records from other schools in and out of county / state.
17. Assist administrator during all phases of Compliance Reviews.
18. Processing all purchase orders for the Special Ed Dept.
19.Maintain Inventory for Sped Dept.
20.Compile list of all ESY Students and send letters to parents / guardians
21.Takes advantage of professional development opportunities to upgrade skills, including computer software and hardware skills and office practices.
22.Performs all other duties as assigned by the administration
