IT Clinical Systems Engineer - EpicCare Ambulatory

Summary

The IT Clinical Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting of clinical IT systems and applications within a healthcare organization.

This position will be directly aligned to Epic's Ambulatory solution. EpicCare Ambulatory is Epic's solution designed for ambulatory clinics.

The role involves working to develop and deploy clinical IT systems and applications managing the implementation process and ensuring that all systems are running smoothly.

The Clinical Systems Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving escalated technical issues. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with physician practices' workflows, hospital outpatient departments and patient experiences.

Also an understanding of a wide array for integration points, including scheduling, lab, radiology, billing, and inpatient clinical workflows.

IT Clinical Systems Engineer I Job Requirements Education Preferred : Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience No Experience required Preferred - 2 years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and / or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Skills · Basic understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows · Knowledge of at least one clinical IT systems, including electronic health records (EHRs), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), laboratory information systems (LIS), and other related applications.

Skills · Knowledge of more than one clinical IT systems, including system configuration and optimization. · Participates in project planning, requirements gathering, and user training.

• Effective data analysis skills and reporting for project purposes. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with department resources.

Experience Required : 6 years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and / or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.

Skills · Advanced knowledge in multiple clinical IT systems, including systems configuration, customization, and optimization.

• Ability to lead medium to large size projects related to clinical systems implementations / optimizations. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with department resources and management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including cross-functional teams. · Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills during project phases.
• Compliance with project management methodologies and quality assurance standards. · Contributes to project risk management and mitigation strategies.

Skills · Mastery of clinical systems and their role in clinical operations. · Ability to lead large scale project implementations · Knowledgeable of clinical systems integrations with other technologies.
