Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Anesthesia Technician Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025 Duration : 14 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Title : Anesthesia Technician Job Summary : An Anesthesia Technician provides support to anesthesia providers by preparing and maintaining equipment, assisting in the administration of anesthesia, and ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients undergoing surgical or medical procedures. They play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning of anesthesia machines and equipment, assisting anesthesia providers, and contributing to patient safety and care during anesthesia administration. Key Responsibilities : Set up, inspect, and maintain anesthesia equipment, including machines, monitors, and supplies, ensuring proper functionality and readiness for use. Assist anesthesia providers in the preparation and administration of anesthesia, ensuring that all required equipment and supplies are readily available. Monitor anesthesia-related equipment and patient vital signs during procedures, promptly reporting any abnormalities or issues. Ensure the proper storage, cleaning, and sterilization of anesthesia-related instruments and supplies. Assist with the placement of intravenous (IV) lines, airway management, and other tasks as directed by anesthesia providers. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow, effective communication, and optimal patient care. Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia equipment, medications, and patient care during procedures. Assist in the preparation and administration of medications, such as anesthesia agents, as prescribed by the anesthesia provider. Educate and train staff on the use of anesthesia equipment, protocols, and infection control procedures. Stay current on advancements in anesthesia technology and best practices through continuing education and training. Qualifications : Education : Associate’s degree or certificate program in Anesthesia Technology or a related field. Certification : Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) preferred.
