SUE Field Technician in Tampa Bay Area

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :

• Utilizing advanced subsurface utility engineering tools including ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic locators.
• Collaborating with construction teams to ensure utilities are accurately located and safely managed.
• Keeping detailed records of utility locations and conditions.
• Conducting site assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Maintaining and caring for high-tech field equipment and company vehicles.
• Complying with all safety guidelines and company standards.

REQUIREMENTS :

• High School Diploma or GED required; further education from a vocational school is a plus.
• Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience with 811 utility locates, or 2 years in private utility locating and / or subsurface utility engineering (SUE).
• Strong grasp of underground utility frameworks and adept at interpreting maps and technical documents.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
• Comfortable with physical work in various environments and weather conditions.
• Willingness for occasional overnight travel and work extra hours during peak times.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and manage field equipment.
• Daily travel capability.
• Detail-oriented with a capacity to perform in fast-paced situations.
• Self-sufficient with a proactive work ethic.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License is advantageous.
• Must be able to acquire necessary certifications for future projects such as OSHA 10, OSHA 40, Substation Entry and other relevant training.
