YOUR DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :
- Utilizing advanced subsurface utility engineering tools including ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic locators.
- Collaborating with construction teams to ensure utilities are accurately located and safely managed.
- Keeping detailed records of utility locations and conditions.
- Conducting site assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Maintaining and caring for high-tech field equipment and company vehicles.
- Complying with all safety guidelines and company standards.
REQUIREMENTS :
- High School Diploma or GED required; further education from a vocational school is a plus.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience with 811 utility locates, or 2 years in private utility locating and / or subsurface utility engineering (SUE).
- Strong grasp of underground utility frameworks and adept at interpreting maps and technical documents.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
- Comfortable with physical work in various environments and weather conditions.
- Willingness for occasional overnight travel and work extra hours during peak times.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and manage field equipment.
- Daily travel capability.
- Detail-oriented with a capacity to perform in fast-paced situations.
- Self-sufficient with a proactive work ethic.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License is advantageous.
- Must be able to acquire necessary certifications for future projects such as OSHA 10, OSHA 40, Substation Entry and other relevant training.
