Staff Accountant

Kavaliro is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Controllership function for one of our healthcare clients in Jacksonville, FL.

The ideal candidate should be proactive and adept in analytics. Primary responsibilities include preparing journal entries, financial reports, and account reconciliations, as well as maintaining the general ledger.

Additionally, the role involves supporting internal controls, assisting with audits, and performing other accounting tasks as needed.

Responsibilities :

Essential Job Functions :

• Prepare journal entries and related entities during monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and perform analysis.
• Generate financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in enhancing existing accounting processes and systems for optimization and scalability.
• Document accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute to internal control initiatives to strengthen the control environment.
• Support financial statement audits and address audit findings.
• Assist in preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
• Fulfill other accounting duties and provide support as required.

Qualifications :

Professional Experience / Qualifications :

• 2+ years of financial or accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• High integrity, reliability, and a results-oriented approach.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effective collaboration with non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking ability, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated professionalism in communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Education / Licenses / Certifications :

An Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
