Perplexity is seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer. You will be a critical hands-on member of the technical staff responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure systems to protect the organization's digital assets.
You will help ensure the highest level of security across the enterprise while balancing business needs and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and maintain secure systems, networks, and applications, including cloud-based solutions, to protect against cyber threats
- Oversee AWS networking, VPN security and package management
- Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate vulnerabilities, both internally and externally
- Define and assess compliance security configurations for hardware, software, and cloud services, ensuring adherence to security governance and compliance frameworks
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies and procedures
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure secure coding practices and adherence to strict security guidelines
- Manage security technology and audit / intrusion systems
Qualifications
- Knowledge of cloud cybersecurity best practices and ability to stay current on industry changes
- Strong background in AWS, Linux, shell scripting, and networking knowledge
- Experience with security technologies such as VPNs, SIEM, IDS / IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools
- Familiarity with security governance and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001)
- Understanding of application security principles and secure coding practices
- Experience with developing and implementing security procedures and policies
- Strong problem-solving, project management, leadership and communication skills
- Experience with compliance solutions such as Drata
- Proven track record in similar roles
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
- 4+ years of industry experience

- Experience with Terraform
The compensation range for this role is $180K - $230K

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Equity : In addition to the base salary, equity is part of the total compensation package.
