Job Overview

Join a reputable and rapidly growing organization based in New York as the Chief Financial and Operations Officer. In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for steering the corporate financial management and strategic fiscal initiatives of the company, while also fostering a culture of growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all functions within the Accounting and Finance Department.
  • Manage a dedicated accounting team consisting of 10-12 direct reports to ensure the implementation of effective processes.
  • Authorize all revenue and expenditure transactions.
  • Evaluate cost controls, cash flow, financial statements, and expenses to provide insightful guidance to business leaders.
  • Partner with executive leadership to synchronize planning and set financial priorities.
  • Drive enhancements in corporate systems and operational processes.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal budgetary regulations.
  • Deliver analysis and data to facilitate informed decision-making as a strategic partner.
  • Supervise corporate banking activities and maintain relationships with external auditors and accountants.
  • Oversee the annual auditing process.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proven record in financial management.
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • An approachable, hands-on leadership style.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel along with experience in accounting ERP systems; familiarity with MS Dynamics GP is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal capabilities.
  • A growth-oriented mindset focused on operational efficiency and revenue maximization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years in an executive finance management role.
  • Relevant experience in the apparel, home goods, or consumer retail sectors is essential.
  • Proven track record of strategic partnership across various departments to enhance business processes.
