Job Title : Paint Line Supervisor - 1st shift

Location : Chicago Heights, IL

Job Type and Duration : Direct hire, Full time

Pay rate : 80K plus, depending on experience

THRIVING FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS THAT HAS EXPERIENCED EXPONENTIAL GROWTH IS LOOKING FOR A DAY SHIFT SUPERVISOR TO JOIN THEIR TEAM.

THIS PERSON WILL BE STATIONED ON DAYS BUT MANAGING SECOND SHIFT AS WELL.

The Paint line supervisor must identify areas for improvement and manage training opportunities for the team.

Bilingual Spanish is a must for this position

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Supervise, lead, coach, and mentor 2 paint line teams across two shifts to achieve higher output.
• Manage, evaluate, and train staff by coaching, conducting performance appraisals, administering corrective action, training, and development by on-the-job programs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and professional standards within the facility.
• Manage Jobs for the paint line floor and expedite as needed.
• Monitor production schedules to ensure inventory is available and staged prior to jobs being released to floor staff.
• Ensure quality products are being produced while minimizing scrap, rework, and down time.
• Ensure inventory, production, and labor is accurately reported in ERP system.
• Ensure material and production is requested and staged ahead of time per schedule.
• Maintain open communication with the scheduling department for open jobs lead-time to order completion.
• Work with the shipping department to route an effective and efficient delivery schedule.
• Request ECRs and or non-engineering corrections when needed on jobs.
• Responds to lead time requests for new or potential orders.
• Maintains communication between employees and management to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood.
• Monitor Dept MRO supplies taking appropriate actions to mitigate risks
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
• Utilize lean principles to implement continuous improvement methodologies to make improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
• Work in conjunction with maintenance on upkeep PMs and safety of equipment to minimize downtime and meet schedule
• Maintain a safe, organized department area.
• Other duties, as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Supervise a staff of 4 leads and personnel under them.
• Provide training and mentoring.
• Ensure company policies are being adhered to
• Ensure safety rules are being followed.
• Manage permanent and temporary workforce as production demand dictates.
• Manage headcount and overtime as demand dictates.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

• Able to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Able to develop and administer schedules and establish performance requirements.
• Able to provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
• Experience advising subordinates on how to meet schedules and / or resolve technical problems.
• Technically proficient on powder paintline operations having managed a paint line
• Maintenance, upkeep, supplies , mechanical trouble shooting and staffing
