The Mutual of Omaha Benefits Department provides a competitive offering of health, welfare, income protection, and retirement plans, which serve over 20,000 employees, retirees, spouses, and dependents.

This position will be responsible for administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and providing exceptional service to our employees regarding their benefits-related inquiries.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU :

  • Estimated Compensation (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications)
  • Estimated Hourly Wage HR Specialist $27.64-36.05, plus annual bonus. plus annual bonus opportunity
  • Estimated Salary SR HR Specialist : $74,000-77,000, plus annual bonus opportunity

401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date.

Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

  • Administer employee benefits programs, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and serve as the primary contact for benefits-related employee inquiries.
  • Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits programs accurately and timely, and coordinate open enrollment processes, including communication, presentations, and data management.
  • Extensive knowledge of benefit compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, ACA, and other relevant laws.
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes (including communication, presentations, and data management), conduct regular audits and reconciliations of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance, and assist in the development and implementation of new benefits programs and initiatives.
  • Process various 401(k) requests such as loans, hardships distributions, monthly installments, and other retirement activities.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING :

  • Experience as a Benefits Specialist or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of employee benefits programs and compliance.
  • Proficient in PC software applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Ability to work at our home office located in Omaha, Nebraska, in a hybrid environment.

PREFERRED :

  • 2+ years of health and welfare or retirement plan experience preferred.
  • Obtainment of the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation or a willingness to work towards the designation.
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred.
