The Investment Advisor position is a key role at First Community for the professional who seeks to work with clients and prospects in assessing their financial goals, needs, and objectives.

You will be an integral member of a dynamic customer-focused Investment Services department and part of a Forbes Best-In-State credit union award-winning team.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • This position requires an Associate Degree in Business Administration, or related field, or three years of related work experience;
  • and a successful track record in sales and service with a proven ability to build relationships with clients. FINRA Licensing Series 6 or 7 as well as a Series 66 in lieu a combination of Series 63 / 65;

state life and health insurances licenses required. Candidates with three to five years licensed registered representative sales experience are preferred.

Strong oral presentation skills, professional image, self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously are expectations of this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Identify and evaluate client needs for financial services, assess the objectives and goals of the individual, then develop an investment strategy to implement;
  • Periodically meets with client to review and update client needs ensuring investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan.

Meetings to occur monthly, quarterly and / or yearly depending on client needs established by Investment Advisor.

  • Provide regular feedback to the branch employees, identified credit union executives and the Vice President of Investment Services regarding sales practices, cross sell opportunities, and business development initiatives.
  • Supports and contributes to initiatives that will meet and exceed current and long-term sales and service goals set forth by the Investment Program as part of the credit union organizational vision and strategy.
  • Develops strong relationships with clients, within the community, and actively participates in program marketing and event planning for workshops and seminars.
  • Represents the Credit Union with honesty, integrity and trust at all times.
  • Follow the policies, procedures, and regulations set forth by the credit union, FINRA, SEC and the broker / dealer for compliance.
  • Completes required compliance and continuing education training in a timely manner and complies with all regulations within scope of the position.
  • Adheres to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act and anti-money laundering regulations.

  • Recognize and listen to member / coworker requests and / or concerns and identify their needs to help ensure successful resolutions.
  • Is exceptional at problem solving issues as they arise and demonstrates the ability to perform analytical thinking and application of concepts.
  • Demonstrates exceptional judgment with knowing when to trouble shoot concerns and / or bring to the attention of management.
  • Possess a detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications that is adequate to perform the duties assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • May involve driving to multiple branch locations in assigned region to meet with clients and branch staff.
  • Potential exposure to the threat of violence at any time.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required.
  • Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding may be required.
