KIP Fall 2024 - Development Intern - Families Empowered

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation's most pressing challenges .

Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you.

Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours / week) or part-time (28 hours / week).

Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to apply in advance!

We help families understand and navigate all of the school choices that are available to them in Texas and Arizona.

About the role

Families Empowered is seeking a Development Intern to meaningfully contribute to our organization's fundraising efforts.

This position will report directly to the Development Coordinator and work closely with other departments. The Development Intern will be an integral part of Families Empowered development team, assisting with various day-to-day activities.

This position provides the opportunity to work on several high-priority projects, including our signature donor event and provides experience with working with key stakeholders, including corporate sponsors, key supporters, and community partners.

Responsibilites

• Assist in managing the donor database (Salesforce) and ensure data integrity by making sure data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Draft donor communications and mailings.
• Scheduling meetings with key stakeholders.
• Conduct research as needed for current and prospective donors.
• Provide support for fundraising events, including our annual luncheon
• In Person in our Houston office
