About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - ICU Job Specialty : ICU Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 7P-7A, 12-hour Night Shifts Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience required, with at least 1 year in ICU License : Registered Nurse license required Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have : - Charge RN experience and willingness to act as Charge RN as needed- Expertise in handling vents, sepsis, pneumonia, DKA, detox, CHF, and COPD exacerbation cases Job Description : Work in a mixed acuity unit with 9 ICU beds, accommodating ICU and Med Surg level patients- Care for patients with a variety of conditions including surgical complications and substance use disorders- Capable of handling pediatric patients requiring overnight stays after surgery- Maintain a patient ratio of 1 : 3 based on patient acuity- Perform procedures including chest tubes, tracheostomies, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, and epidurals (rare)- Manage insulin and cardiac drips- Read and interpret cardiac strips for ICU and Med Surg units- Provide support on the unit with access to RT and hospitalist services 24 / 7- Use Cerner charting system for patient documentation- May float to Med Surg or ED for patient assignments or assisting as needed- Participate in hospital orientation and online learning modules- Engage in charge training shifts based on unit needs- Adhere to weekend rotation and holiday work expectations as required- Professional scrub attire in any color
