Title : Human Resource Coordinator

Reports to : Director of Employee Relations

Job Description : Perform basic human resource support and assistance in such areas as

employment, classification, employee relations, and benefits in support of Human Resource functions for the District.

Job Qualifications :

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Previous experience in human resources
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Previous experience in INFINITE VISIONS accounting software.
  • Fluency in writing, speaking, and reading English is required (Spanish preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Post vacancies and new positions internally and prepare and submit job vacancy information to the appropriate newspapers as required.
  • Manage application process by accepting applications, reviewing for completeness, and follow up for missing items.
  • Complete background checks on all applicants recommended for hire and prospective candidates.
  • Screen applications for support staff, instructional and administrative positions.
  • Assist applicants and answer questions regarding application process and salary information. Assist in setting up screenings and interviews.
  • Facilitate screening process and team interviews.
  • Prepare and maintain files.
  • Answer questions regarding certification of employees.
  • Process new hire paperwork and employee address changes.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation.
  • Set up new employees in Visions, create email accounts, issue employee identification badges, issue laptops (if applicable).
  • Assign employee performance evaluations.
  • Assist with employee requests to review personnel files.
  • Assist in the preparation of correspondence, reports and compiling information for Board Agendas relative to personnel actions.
  • Update and verify for accuracy employee information in various Human Resource systems. Maintain accurate databases for staffing, applications and screenings.
  • Create periodic and ad hoc reports.
  • Provide support to Human Resource department as needed.
  • Facilitate annual open enrollment for changes in payroll deductions.
  • Complete and submit the SDER report for certified & classified employees in a timely manner.
  • E-Group - Complete separation report and fax to E-Group. Review quarterly benefit charge notice from the AZ Department of Economic Security.
  • Assist with fingerprinting.
  • Assist with creating and revising job descriptions for all positions.
  • Keep current with certification requirements.
  • Manage all personnel matters for the district, following all federal, state and district laws, guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Understand and have a working knowledge of the Payroll section of the USFR Compliance Questionnaire checklist.
  • Understand and have a working knowledge of the Records Management section of the USFR Compliance Questionnaire checklist.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Arizona State Retirement System's rules.
  • Have a working knowledge of the State of Arizona Labor Law.
  • Maintain up-to-date personnel files on all employees.
  • Prepare a contract or agreement, or a notice of hourly wage for each new employee.
  • Provide employment verification, unemployment information to appropriate agencies as required.
  • Maintain a certificated staff listing of their certificate(s).
  • Maintain a classified employee listing of 90 day probationary periods and notify the appropriate supervisor to do an evaluation.
  • Maintain an Instructional Assistant listing, verifying ParaPro and / or 60 college credit hours and all required certificates.
  • Assist with lateral moves.
  • Assist in monitoring workers compensation and unemployment programs and claims.
  • Work directly with the contracted audit firm with the annual audit of the district.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and to interact with the public and other staff.

Terms of Employment

Non-Exempt, 12-month position, 261 days

One-year, limited-term appointment

8 hours per day

Salary : $22.81 per hour (negotiable depending on experience and education)

Participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)

60-day probation

5 days vacation (after 60-day probation)

12 days sick / personal (after 60-day probation)

Health, dental, vision and life (after 60-day probation)
