Job Title : Applications Engineer (Intermediate Electrical Engineer / Engineer III)
Location : Tampa, FL
Travel : 50% in the first year, 30% in the second year (depends on resources)
Schedule : 100% Remote for 1-year 70% Remote, 30% In-Office within 2-years
Job Type : Full Time
Compensation : $90k-$110k / year (10% performance based bonus, 5k sign on)

Position Overview : TechPro Power Group is excited to expand its Engineering team for a new sector within the company. We are seeking a Full-Time Intermediate Electrical Engineer / Engineer III with a focus on Power Systems / Equipment.
This role, designated as Applications Engineer, will lead our team in equipment design. The successful candidate will collaborate with Business Development, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to deploy innovative solutions for our clients.
This collaboration will span multiple offices and involve third-party vendors and consultants.
Experience Required :
- 5-8 years of experience
- Proficiency with Switchboards, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Low Voltage Breakers, and Medium Voltage Breakers
Industry : Commercial, Industrial, Utility
Service Area : Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-West
Business Development :
Responsible for Bid Walkdowns and Proposal Development
Project Experience :
- Up to $100k CAPEX Projects
- FEL1 (Conceptual), FEL4 (Detail Engineering), FEL5 (Construction), and FEL6 (Commissioning)
Codes and Standards :
UL (891, 1558, 508), NEMA Type 1 & 3R, IEEE, NFPA
Skills Required (Technical) :
- 3D Laser Scanning
- Developing Deliverables : One Line Diagram, Three Line Diagram, Block and Riser Diagrams, Interconnection Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Schematics, Equipment Specifications, Installation Details, Elevation Drawings, and Panel Drawings
- Evaluating OEM Equipment
Skills Required (Project Management) :
- Developing Budget Reports
- Site Walkdowns
- Leading Client Meetings
- Procurement
Additional Requirements :
- Client Site Specific Training
- Client Drug Screening (if requested)
Application Experience :
- Intermediate Level : Autodesk 2D and 3D or Solidworks or Bentley Microstation 3D
- Intermediate Level : Microsoft Word, OneNote, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Entry Level (Optional) : Revu Bluebeam, Autodesk BIM 360
- Intermediate Level (Optional) : Autodesk Electrical
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
License and Certifications :
- Fundamentals in Engineering (F.E.) Not Required
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) Not Required
