Join Our Culinary Team as a Sous Chef!
Are you passionate about leading in the kitchen, innovating menus, and maintaining top-tier food quality? We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to bring their culinary expertise, leadership, and creativity to our bustling kitchen at The Vermilion Club within Winthrop Center in Boston’s financial district.
Key Responsibilities :
- Food Cost Management : You’ll supervise food production, ensuring the freshest ingredients are used. Daily responsibilities include ordering dry goods, produce, meat, and seafood, and managing waste to maximize efficiency.
- Labor Cost Optimization : Oversee the BOH team by adjusting staff based on business needs and reconciling payroll for the kitchen team.
- Menu Development & Innovation : Collaborate on exciting new menus, standardize recipes, and ensure a smooth implementation process by leading menu meetings, tasting sessions, and FOH & BOH staff training.
- Staff Training & Leadership : Develop the next generation of culinary talent by training and mentoring new and current cooks, while ensuring quality and consistency across the kitchen.
- Kitchen Maintenance & Standards : Maintain a pristine kitchen environment by liaising with the engineering team for maintenance issues, and ensuring strict compliance with DOH and HACCP standards.
Qualifications :
- Certification in NYC Food Protection License is required.
- Understanding of labor and food cost control.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on leadership with approximately 5 pass coverage shifts per week, ensuring your imprint on the kitchen is visible and impactful.
