Job Summary :

The Audio, Video, Data Systems Installation and Customer Support Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio, video, and data systems for residential and commercial clients.

This role also involves providing exceptional customer support to ensure client satisfaction and resolving technical issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Installation and Setup :

  • Install and configure audio, video, and data systems including but not limited to home theater systems, video conferencing equipment, network setups, and related hardware.
  • Ensure systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform site assessments to determine the optimal placement and configuration of equipment.

2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting :

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to audio, video, and data systems in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on existing systems to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Provide on-site and remote support to address client issues and system malfunctions.

3. Customer Support :

  • Offer exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, providing technical support, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Educate clients on system operation and provide training as needed.
  • Prepare and present service reports, including detailed explanations of services performed and recommendations for future maintenance.

4. Documentation and Reporting :

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and customer interactions.
  • Complete and submit service reports, job tickets, and any other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Track inventory levels of parts and equipment and order supplies as necessary.

5. Collaboration and Communication :

  • Work closely with project managers, sales teams, and other technicians to coordinate installation and support efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

6. Compliance and Safety :

  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all installations comply with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards and advancements in technology to provide cutting-edge solutions.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in the installation and support of audio, video, and data systems.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and software.

Skills :

  • Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of networking principles and IP-based systems.

Certifications :

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, CEDIA certifications) are a plus.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to specify weight, e.g., 50 lbs .
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated locations.
